We're back from our trip to Austin, the Capital of Texas football, car racing, and too many food options to choose from. The craziness of traffic almost did me in, but visiting with our son and his girlfriend made it a smaller inconvenience than normal.
Please tell me I'm not the only one who gets crazy-giddy about trying new food establishments when traveling. The choices in a big city like Austin are endless. And don't even get me started on the options for coffee. Quacks wins for coffee. Blue Bonnet Cafe in Marble Falls is where it's at for breakfast. I couldn't stay away from The Taco Joint on campus for the Holy Mole tacos (three days in a row!), and one can never go wrong with Terry Black's Barbecue. Back home, I'm now eating salads for the foreseeable future.
All that good eating did wonders for my writing-away-from-home habit, too. I managed to get some work done on the rough draft each night which helps me get back into the groove a lot quicker than if I'd left the work at home.
