Ah, summer.
The fairs, the fresh fruit, the cool evenings on the deck as the fireflies start to blink, these are the things I love about this time of year.
This past weekend, my daughter and I took the grand girls to a farm breakfast at a local dairy farm. Eggs and biscuits and gravy for a $1 a meal. Then we wandered inside their farm store for homemade ice cream. Nevermind that it was 9:30 a.m.! The "no ice cream for breakfast" rule was left back home, much to the grand girls' delight. And of course we had to take a trip to the barns to see the animals. It was a gorgeous morning, if a little windy, but nothing a well-placed coffee thermos on the napkins couldn't handle.
We also picked cherries from my daughter and son-in-law's tree which turned into the oldest granddaughter's "birthday cake" on Monday. Cobbler a la mode, to be exact. She's no traditionalist, that's for sure.
In book news, I've reworked two prequel chapters to give away to new newsletter subscribers so that I can put LOVE, LIES and FIREFLIES and the BLUEBERRY POINT ROMANCE COLLECTION into Kindle Unlimited next month. Amazon requires exclusive content for KU so I can no longer give away LL&F since it's now part of the novella collection. I'll include a link to the prequel chapters in the last newsletter this month in case you want to take a peek at the matchmakers at work before Darcy and Sean Stetson actually meet.
