As much as I love the signs of Spring popping up around the neighborhood, I can do without the mud. I wish we could go from February snowstorms right into green grass and tulip bulbs poking through the soil. For the last week, a moat has literally surrounded half of my house as the snow melts from two big storms last month. Getting the pup outside for his walks involves rubber boots and lots of towels. And there's STILL little muddy paw prints I have to clean up on the white tile floor! The grand girl loves her muddy puddles though (a Peppa Pip reference if you're familiar with the British cartoon). She's been begging her mom and dad for outside time since the temperatures have risen this week. Tomorrow is our day to have her and her sister over, so I'm thinking we'd better be prepared to get a little dirty, like it or not.
At the moment, I'm about to send LILAC CRUSH to the editor, then I'll be finishing another novella for the Blueberry Point seasonal anthology. My writing muse hasn't been cooperating this last month; it's been a struggle to meet my daily word goals. Maybe that's a signal that I'm pushing myself too hard. I'm hoping March is more productive.
