Hello All!
We're still in chill mode here in central Illinois, enjoying a little downtime while the Twelve Days of Christmas tick by. I'm catching up on my reading which is a delight. I can actually see my nightstand now. Okay, maybe I moved my TBR pile to another surface, but STILL!
I've turned to short spurts of writing in between craft projects, holiday baking, and shopping. Our quick trip to Chicago last weekend was so fun. Our two sons joined my husband and I as well as our daughter's family. Seeing the uncles have almost as much fun as the grand girls did dining amidst all the pink and glitter of the American Girl Place on Michigan Avenue was a hoot. The decorations in the shop windows and hotel lobby were magical.
Disappointing was the Christkindlmarket. We walked there before dinner last Sunday night. With the surrounding lights, the white vendor huts looked so promising. But we quickly realized the sheer number of people would make it hard to enjoy ourselves. It was shoulder-to-shoulder once we got inside the fencing, and took so much patience and navigating the crowd to get near the vendors. Maybe it was a mistake going the Sunday night before Christmas. I'm not sure I'll try that again.
