I'm taking a small break from writing A Forever Kiss in Silver Leaf Falls today to introduce you to someone special. She's hung out with me for the last several months, whispering her and Cam Beckett's story in my ear. She's made my mouth water with the breakfast buffet pastries she serves at Blueberry Point Lodge. She's Mila Warner from Love, Lies and Lemon Pie popping in to give you a little sneak peak at the novel which releases September 28th.
She and Chavvi watched Cam Beckett cross the street to his truck. He hunched his broad shoulders as he tucked himself into the cab, giving the Osage Tearoom one last look. Her boss looped her arm around Mila’s shoulders and pulled her across the dining room toward the kitchen. There was still clean up to tend to from the lunch rush.
Chavvi squeezed Mila's shoulder. “So, a date? Break up with one guy on Friday, get a new one today?”
Mila frowned. “No! No date. Cam just wants to interview me for the Taste of the North Shore festival supplement.”
Chavvi slumped. “Oh. What a disappointment.”
Mila couldn’t help but giggle a little. Chavvi was the worst when it came to sticking her nose into Mila’s life.
“Maybe after the interview he’ll ask you out,” Chavvi said with undisguised hope in her tone.
“Believe me, that’s the absolute last thing I’m thinking about or need right now.”
Chavvi closed her eyes. “Hopeless,” she said under her breath. She turned back toward the kitchen.
“Even though it may not seem like it at the moment, I do generally have my life under control,” Mila called to her retreating figure.
Chavvi wagged a finger over her shoulder. “Maybe so. But don’t say I didn’t tell you.”
“What’s that?”
She stopped to point toward the window as Cam’s truck drove out of sight. “That’s the kind of guy who’s worth your time.”
