December 7, 2022
We have a 40+ year-old kitchen where the blue/mauve color scheme of the 1980s still lives in the wallpaper border around the perimeter of the room. The vinyl floor is cracked, the kitchen cabinets warped in spots, and I’m waiting for our circa 2001 refrigerator to…wait, I’m not going to say that (*runs to find wood to knock on*).
Tomorrow someone is coming to take measurements and talk about design. I’m beyond giddy to even consider a whole new space; it’s been on our radar for the last year now that two of our three kids are completely off the ledger. My husband is not excited about a house project as expensive as a new kitchen, but I think his geologist self will like picking the quartz countertops. Yes, I’ll remind him of that when he starts howling about prices.
In book news, there are still a lot of book events to share with you as 2022 winds down on the calendar. Tomorrow I'll be in the Clean Christmas Romance Reader group on Facebook from 4 to 6 p.m. (CST) talking about my Christmas novels and doing a giveaway or two. Join me there and other authors throughout the month for some bookish holiday cheer. You'll have to join the group first if you're not already a member. Hope to see you there!

The Clean/Christian Christmas $.99 Sale which features 24 different holiday titles ends this Sunday, December 11th. My novel, LOVE, LIES and MISTLETOE is included, the enemies-to-lovers “office romance” where holiday lights installer Brandt Johnsson and interior designer Layla Dean find themselves together again after sharing a mistaken mistletoe kiss the year before. As they decorate Blueberry Point Lodge for the Christmas season, avoiding each other is as hard as untangling their light strings, but maybe they belong together after all? Check out all the books here.

HO HO HO! It's the Clean My Shelves Giveaway Special Holiday Edition! This month we're all about Christmas too, of course! The bounty you see is part of the big haul I scored at a local book sale last month. I’ll pick FIVE lucky winners this time from those who send me their choice by replying to this e-mail. Also, this time I'm asking you to send a first and second choice since there will be more winners. It might save me an e-mail or two if you win and your first choice was already awarded. Please take note: all of these are lovingly USED books. And so sorry, non-US friends, I can only ship within the country. If by chance I choose someone outside the U.S., I’ll offer a $5 Amazon gift card instead.
The contest closes on Sunday night 12/11/22, at 7 p.m. CST. Winners will be notified via e-mail on Monday and have 48 hours to respond. PLEASE check your e-mail on Monday! Winners will also be announced in the next
newsletter.
The selections are from left to right: Kiss the Girl by Melanie Jacobsen; Mistletoe Cottage by Debbie Mason; The White Christmas Inn by Colleen Wright; It Happened at Christmas by Debbie Mason; Winter Wishes by Fern Michaels and others; Jingle All the Way by Debbie Macomber; Wedding Bells in Christmas by Debbie Mason; Christmas from the Heart by Sheila Roberts; Mrs. Miracle Christmas by Debbie Macomber; and Christmas at the Island Hotel by Jenny Colgan.

What's on my nightstand? I haven't had much time to read this past week so I'm still working on Merry Ex-Mas by Courtney Walsh. Next up: Winter Solstice by Elin Hilderbrand. What are you reading this week?

What happens when she gets snowed in with the man she’s managed to ignore for a decade? Pretty much a disaster draped in tinsel.
"Snowed In at Christmas Town is a clean, heartwarming, enemies to lovers romance. I love this well written, witty tale of godparents to precocious twins - Louisa, a schoolteacher, and Brady, an ex hockey star - as they all spend time before Christmas in Christmas Town." - Amazon review
