Tonight we get to meet The Girlfriend.
Our youngest son flies home from Austin today since his best friend is getting married on Saturday. He's bringing the young woman he's been dating since April, and we're so EXCITED! I feel a little sorry for the craziness she'll encounter with her first impression of the Malone family.
As I deep clean the house, I'm reminding myself that she'll probably be so overwhelmed with all the new faces she'll meet over four days, that she won't notice the paint chips on the woodwork, the worn fabric on the arm chairs, or the scratches on the wood floor from when our kids rode their toy cars around the house twenty-five years ago. Tell me I'm right, please.
Today, I'm also sharing the Week 3 Releases from the Coffee Loft Collection. My final edits arrived by email over the weekend, so I need to get to work on polishing A CAFE AU LAIT KIND OF LOVE because October 10th will be here before we know it!

It's Week 3 for the Coffee Loft series releases! Congratulations to authors Ellie Hall and Kerry Evelyn on their new releases this week! They're in Kindle Unlimited too!
DON'T YOU FORGET ABOUT TEA
by Ellie Hall
Here's a sneak peak:
My sister says all girls want bad boys. Not this good girl. Except for that one time.
I was the small-town princess cliche in high school. I left to hit it big in Hollywood, only to return home without a shiny golden award. Instead, all I have is an oversized plate of humble pie. No glitz. Zero glam.
Just about everything is the same as when I left Hogwash. Nosy neighbors. Gossip galore. The no stop-light vibe. The only job available is at the Coffee Loft. On the upside, it’s a family affair. Thanks, sis.
The downside, the police deputy is none other than our local juvenile delinquent. Seems he’s grown up and reformed his life. But I don’t expect him to protect me from a cascade of unfortunate events involving my ex, a missing dog, and other, um, things.
Until he does. Now I’m in his debt.
Maybe things have changed, especially how handsome he is in uniform, how polite he is when he stops in for tea, and how I can’t seem to forget about him. Then the past comes back to haunt him, er, us.
Looks like he’s leaving. Meanwhile, I’m stuck here. He says we’ll stay in touch. But I can’t help think he’ll forget about me.
This is a clean, sweet, closed door, small town, second chance slow burn romcom with lots of sweet kisses and a happily ever after.

Next, Kerry Evelyn's book, PUMPKIN SPICE SPICE BABY, makes its debut on Thursday! If you love Frenemies-to-More, Childhood Rivals, Hockey, a Meddling Nana and an Emotional Support Cat, Forced Proximity, Slow Burn, and So Much Banter, this is the romcom for you.
Here's a little taste of this book:
𝙒𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙖𝙡 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙨 𝙖 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙮, 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙨𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙝𝙞𝙢 𝙞𝙣?
I'd rather break my leg again than live with my archenemy, Montgomery Biddington.
But Monty's got something I want—connections. And when he suddenly needs a place to stay, I know exactly how we can help each other.
I can live with his arrogance and unrelenting passive-aggressive digs. I can fire them right back just as well. I've been doing it since we were kids. To us, the term "punchbacks" always meant more than a reverse flip on the mat.
I never expected his compassionate side. A side that makes him almost...lovable.
He even nurses me through an unexpected flare-up of a disease I thought I'd finally gained control of, and he even offered to fill in at my coaching job when I couldn't leave our apartment. But how can I take him seriously when he’s always teasing me or pranking the hockey team for his gig as its hilarious mascot?
I can never risk admitting my true feelings, even when I catch him sending compassionate looks my way. I can't compromise the team's chances of winning or risk losing Monty to silly emotions that will no doubt punch back harder than any of his tumbling passes.

I'd better get back to cooking dinner for tonight. Salmon cakes and bacon cheddar burgers, autumn squash casserole, nine-layer salad, fruit salad, and s'mores bars are on the menu! My son said not to overdue it with the meal, but food is my love language. I can't help it!
Stayed tuned for a special Sunday newsletter edition this weekend when I highlight fellow clean romance author Ruth Pendleton!
