October 3, 2025
Hello Dear Readers!
As the calendar page turned to October this week, I feel myself settling into more of a routine after the chaotic summer I've had. The leaves are falling prematurely since it's been so dry here, but I still feel fall in the air, especially in the morning when it's cooler.
The days are filled with writing (of course) and a little yard clean up. We're facing a big redo of our home's exterior next year after the May hail storm, and while it's nerve-wracking (the expense!), I'm excited to see the results. I'm also looking forward to a Texas trip mid-month.

SADIE WENDELL and the rest of her family can't wait to see you back in Port Chance, this time for the Christmas season! Meanwhile, are you caught up reading the first three books in the Port Chance series?
I finished listening to the audio file of A Cafe Au Lait Kind of Love earlier this week and it sounds FABULOUS! It's such a surreal experience having written the book but listening to it read aloud by someone else. I'm very much a visual person so it makes sense that I prefer reading over listening to stories, but it was truly magical to experience the book in this format. ACX is now doing its "production thing," but as soon as it's live, I'll share the link. It'll be available at Audible and iTunes.
I'm also racing to the finish line working on Christmas in Port Chance before it's due to the editor later this month. I'm still holding off on announcing the release date but the later half of November is a sure bet. The pre-order link will be available in the next newsletter.

Last week I posted the cover reveal and some juicy tidbits about the book in my Facebook group. I'll be sharing something leading up to the book's release in November each week. Small random giveaways will be posted on Fridays with winners announced on Monday mornings. Will I see you there? Go to D.E. Malone's Book Room to join in the fun if you're not already a member.

Now that October is here, I'm being a little more intentional with what I plan to read. Holiday-inspired books are by far my favorite so my list is growing long. I'm always tempted by pretty covers though, so deviating from my reading plan is a possibility!
What book are you most looking forward to reading this fall? Reply to this e-mail to let me know of your recs!
