Happy New Year!
We're eight days into 2025, and for me, it already feels like a year! I woke up New Year's Day unable to get far from the bed. Extreme fatigue, a fever, and So. Much. Coughing. kept me under the covers until Friday when I finally drove myself to PromptCare. Enough, I said.
Now I'm recovering from walking pneumonia, having taken my last round of antibiotics yesterday. I get pretty winded when I exert myself even the slightest bit, but my lungs are clearing. With lots of sitting around time, it's the perfect excuse to finish this book.

My first deadline was fast approaching next Monday until I heard from the editor who needed to delay starting on LOCKED ON LOVE'S LANDING to finish another author's book. All I could think about was THANK YOU, UNIVERSE! My diagnosis last Friday meant that I didn't get anything written AT ALL last week. I couldn't sit up for two days let alone drag myself to the desk to write. I'm still having trouble concentrating, but I know the plan and the end is in sight! Release day is still set for February 25th.

My reading journey for 2025 didn't start off on the ideal foot. I actually quit reading a Katherine Center novel the other day at about the 1/3 point. She's my favorite author, but I was so disappointed in Get Lucky, one of her earliest novels. So, instead I picked up Jenny Proctor's The Christmas Letters, and am thoroughly enjoying this one now. What is your first book in the New Year?
