December 22, 2025
How are you spending these last days of 2025?
As much as I love the anticipation of Christmas Day, I look forward to winding down during the days between Christmas and turning the calendar page to January.
Sadly, my last book signing of 2025 didn't happen last weekend due to Snowmaggedon descending on central Illinois. To make matters worse, the temperature hovered near zero for a few days, making our boiler hum around the clock. I sat in the wing chair right next to one of our iron radiators with a fleece throw around my shoulders and alternated between reading, ordering the rest of the gifts on my list, and playing with a few of my 2026 writing projects. I say "playing" because it's more brainstorming than writing, and that's always fun for me.
What's in store for readers in 2026? Here's what I have planned in a nutshell:
- one last book (for now) in the Port Chance series (spring)
- a Blueberry Point Christmas box set with the two holiday novels, and a Christmas novella (summer)
- a stand alone Christmas novel (October-November)
I haven't set hard release times for anything yet. I'm a little skittish after this last messy year which really wreaked havoc on what deadlines I had for myself. Hopefully, 2026 is kinder.

My Facebook reader's group is getting a revamp in January. I'm trying new things and giving it a fresh look. One regular feature has always been to wish a happy birthday to that month's members. I'm adding a new twist to that and choosing two members each month to receive a birthday treat in the mail. Do you want to join the fun? https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1Bxb36ctTM/

I have one author recommendation today ~ RosaLinda Diaz. I haven't read this particular book yet, but isn't the cover of Marry Ex-Mas so cute!?
Have you started your reading list for 2026 yet? I'm vowing to do better with reading. I usually read in bed, but that only lasts for 10-15 minutes before I nod off. I don't get through too many books that way, and there are so many titles I want to read. My strategy going forward is to read for set intervals during my daily writing breaks.
What's one title you're looking forward to during this last week of the year or in 2026? Just reply to this e-mail with your reply!
