Your Port Chance Itinerary: First Stop, That Woman on Thistledown Lane

image

March 7, 2025

Have you ever been around one of those big, talky families where everyone tries to outdo each other in the volume department? You're part of one, you say? Are you a participant or are you more like the family member who sits in the corner, dunking baby carrots into the dill dip while trying to follow the conversation amid the sounds all blending together?

I'm definitely in the later group, LOL! So, when I created the Wendell family for the Port Chance series, I knew immediately which sisters would be the talky ones, and who would be the more discerning, quiet ones. Older sister Rose and Sadie (who readers get to see a bit more of in Locked on Love's Landing) are the quieter ones. Kit and her older sister Janie (of That Woman on Thistledown Lane) belong in the more talkative category. I loved writing the scene when all of them are in the kitchen early on in the book.

You might remember the Wendells' fun, family dynamic from the first book in the series, THAT WOMAN ON THISTLEDOWN LANE, too. That book happens to be on sale until next Wednesday. At only .99 cents, it's the perfect time to start the series if you've yet to dive in.

A SUMMARY: Janie Wendell, second oldest of the Wendell sisters, gets her second chance with Mark Christie, after a job opportunity sent them in different directions years ago. Now Mark is back in Port Chance, and Janie isn't sure if her heart can withstand another heartbreak. Their chemistry sizzles like the griddle at Daisy Gap Cafe where Janie waitresses. Is Janie ready to serve Mark a do-over or will she keep him on the back burner for good?

Oh, and the paperback of LOCKED ON LOVE'S LANDING is finally available on Amazon, too.

If you've read LOCKED ON LOVE'S LANDING, thank you! Please consider leaving a review on Amazon, Goodreads, Bookbub, etc. if you haven't already. We authors love your feedback!

The next Port Chance book comes your way this fall! I'm already working on Christmas in Port Chance, and I'm sure you'll love the heartfelt and hopeful story with Sadie Wendell as the quiet, steadfast heroine and third oldest sister of the Wendell clan.

I've caved into the buzz surrounding Rebecca Yarros' series, beginning with The Fourth Wing. It's good but not one of the genres I usually read. And it's a BIG book at 500 pages, also not something I usually pick up. So far, I'm interested enough that I'll keep reading.
