LOCKED ON LOVE'S LANDING released on Tuesday!
Of course my internet decides to go haywire this week for the occasion. I tried making and scheduling social media posts on Monday, but the connection kept blinking in and out, freezing my progress in the graphics program I use. I took it as a sign to back away from work and focus on everything that I've pushed aside this past month.
When I was writing the first book of this series, I spent a day in LeClaire, Iowa which is the town that inspired fictional Port Chance. It has an historic Main Street which runs right along the Mississippi River, an idyllic river town. There's an antique store which became Jumpin' John's Shoppe of Curious Goods, a coffee shop (Daily Grind), and an ice cream shop (Herrold's Sweet and Soda Emporium). Writing a series set in the same small town helps me capture the essence of life in a community like Port Chance.
Reviews are coming in, too! I love this early one:
"In her usual way of heartfelt storytelling, D.E. Malone takes two people who missed their chance at love and weaves their lives together in a beautiful, hope-filled way. Working through deep emotional scars, Kit and Holden struggle to find the courage to be honest to their hearts." - Amazon
I'm in the midst of writing a prequel novella to the Port Chance series that I'll share here when it's ready. I'm hoping MEET ME IN PORT CHANCE will be ready sometime in early spring. You'll adore the cover, too! I just finished collaborating with Wilette at Red Leaf Cover Design on it this week.
Have you read any of the Port Chance books yet? I'd love to know which is your favorite one!
