Your Race Is Unique.

Stop competing where you were never meant to.

Hey ,

Yesterday, being the first Sunday of the year, was filled with thanksgiving and gratitude.

At my church, Citizens of Light Church, Pastor Temitope Areo preached, and she said something that stayed with me long after the service ended:

“Your race is unique.”

Simple statement.

Deep truth.

You are running your race.

You are fighting your battles.

You are carrying your responsibilities.

So it makes no sense to constantly measure yourself against someone else’s journey.

One of the biggest traps people fall into is competing in races they were never assigned to run.

You look at someone else’s speed.

Someone else’s progress.

Someone else’s results.

And you forget that:

– They didn’t start where you started

– They don’t have your background

– They don’t carry your burdens

– They are not answering your calling

Comparison does one dangerous thing:

It distracts you from your own race.

The moment you start obsessing over another person’s journey, you lose focus on what you are supposed to be doing.

Here’s the truth most people need to hear:

You are not in competition with anyone else.

Not your friends.

Not your colleagues.

Not people online.

Not people your age.

The only real competition is between:

– Who you were

– Who you are

– Who you are becoming

That’s it.

Your job is to be better than yesterday.

Clearer than last year.

More disciplined than before.

More aligned than you used to be.

That’s the race that matters.

Someone else might be faster.

Someone else might be ahead.

Someone else might be celebrated more.

Let them run their race.

You focus on yours.

Because when you stay faithful to your lane, your pace will make sense.

Your timing will make sense.

Your progress will make sense.

As you go through this year, remind yourself often:

I am not behind.

I am not late.

I am not in competition.

I am running my race.

And I will run it well.

Stay focused.

Stay grounded.

Stay in your lane.

That alone will save you a lot of pressure this year.

Have a great day.

Your Fave,

Darasimi.
