Why Impact Matters More Than Results

One message reminded me why we do this in the first place.

Hey ,

Two days ago, on the 1st of January 2026, I received a reply to one of my emails.

One of the Thrivers, Precious, took time to respond, shared her feedback, and even pointed out specific words line that stayed with her. It was thoughtful. It was honest. And it moved me more than she probably realizes.

When I read that message, one thought came to my mind immediately:

This is why we are here.

This is the reason we write.

The reason we speak.

The reason we show up consistently.

Impact.

That one message reminded me of something I hold very strongly:

Impact matters. Deeply.

I think the world has become too obsessed with results alone.

Numbers.

Metrics.

Followers.

Revenue.

Visibility.

And don’t get me wrong, results matter. Bills need to be paid. Progress should be measurable. Growth should be tangible.

But here’s the question we don’t ask enough:

What is the point of results if there is no impact?

You can have money and still leave no mark.

You can have influence and still change no lives.

You can have reach and still add no value.

And that’s a dangerous place to be.

I know some people will say, “Impact doesn’t pay the bills.”

And in a strict sense, that may be true.

But I want to ask something deeper:

What is life if your existence doesn’t make someone else’s life better in some way?

Impact doesn’t always mean changing thousands of people.

Sometimes it’s one message.

One conversation.

One moment of clarity.

One person feeling seen, helped, encouraged, or strengthened.

If I can bless one person, truly bless one person, it matters to me. A lot.

That’s why I believe your presence should be felt.

When you walk into a space, your presence should add something.

When you are part of an environment, things should be better because you are there.

When someone has your contact, they should gain value from knowing you.

Your WhatsApp status should give value.

Your posts should give value.

Your conversations should give value.

Your silence, when needed, should give value.

Everyone who encounters you should leave with something.

Insight.

Encouragement.

Clarity.

Perspective.

Hope.

Something.

Value is not optional.

Value is responsibility.

You don’t need a large platform to have impact.

You only need awareness and intention.

Ask yourself regularly:

– Am I adding value where I am?

– Are people better because they know me?

– Is my presence felt in a meaningful way?

This year, as we move forward, I want to encourage you to place importance on impact, not just outcomes.

Results will come.

Growth will happen.

But let impact guide you.

Because long after numbers fade, impact remains.

That message from Precious reminded me of this truth.

And I’m grateful for it.

This is the kind of year I want us to have.

A year of presence.

A year of value.

A year of real impact.

Let’s make it count.
