You can love God and still miss your season

You can’t pray your way out of what discipline should fix.

Hey ,

There’s a time for everything.

A time to build.

A time to serve.

A time to rest.

A time to stretch.

But what I’ve notice especially among young people is that many of us confuse what’s important with what’s a priority for the season we’re in.

Let me explain.

There are things that are important, but not priority right now.

For most of us, this season of life, our 20s, early 30s, is the season to build.

To learn.

To grow.

To develop yourself intentionally.

By all means, serve God with everything you have. But even at that, you still need to grow your mind, your skill, your capacity, your discipline.

Because the truth is: prayer doesn’t replace preparation.

And spirituality doesn’t excuse irresponsibility.

You can pray for hours and still remain broke, unskilled, and unproductive if you don’t commit time to building yourself.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying stop praying.

I’m saying pray, and build.

Give time to both.

Your devotion to God, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 90 minutes, 2 hours, is beautiful. But after that, build something.

Learn a skill.

Grow your business.

Develop your capacity.

I get really pained when I see young people with no skill, no discipline, and no direction yet they spend all day in church without applying what they’re learning.

Even the people God used in scripture weren’t idle.

They were fishermen, shepherds, tentmakers, physicians, they had something they were doing before God called them.

God partners with the diligent.

So here’s my point:

This is your season to build.

To train your mind.

To master your craft.

To be valuable.

Don’t waste it trying to look spiritual when what God wants is for you to be fruitful.

You’ll have time for everything but right now, make sure this season counts.
