I Realized This in the Shower.

Hey ,
Welcome to the month of March!
May it be the best month for you yet.
Last night, while taking a shower, I had one of those moments of light. You know, the ones that just hit you out of nowhere?
Here it is:
There’s a clear difference between a mistake and a bad decision.
A mistake is unintentional. You didn’t mean for it to happen.
A bad decision? That’s different. That’s making the wrong choice when you actually had the chance to do better.
But here’s the gist—most of what we call mistakes aren’t mistakes at all.
They’re bad decisions.
Think about it.
- You didn’t “mistakenly” ignore the red flags in that relationship—you chose to.
- You didn’t “accidentally” spend your savings on things you didn’t need—you decided to.
- You didn’t “mistakenly” stop working on your goals for months—you chose comfort over discipline.
It’s a hard truth, but if we don’t see bad decisions for what they really are, we won’t learn from them.
Now, before you start feeling bad… hold on.
Because in my next mail, we’re talking about something just as important—forgiving yourself for bad decisions.
We all mess up. We all make choices we wish we could take back. But staying stuck in guilt won’t change anything.
So, let’s talk.
What’s one “mistake” you made recently that you now realize was actually a bad decision?
Tell me. I’d love to hear from you.
Talk soon,
Darasimi.
