My Dad Said Something That Hit Me Hard… And He’s Right.

Hey ,

Yesterday, I had a conversation with my dad, and he said something that really stuck with me:

“Your generation gives up too easily.”

I didn't even argue. The more I thought about it, the more I agreed… he’s right.

We face a little difficulty, and we walk away.

We don’t see results immediately, and we assume we’re not good enough.

We hit roadblocks, and instead of pushing through, we find something easier to do.

But here’s the truth: no one ever achieves greatness without challenges.

Think about it.

  • The biggest successes come from the toughest battles.
  • The best ideas are born in the weakest moments.
  • The most inspiring people are those who refused to quit when everything was against them.

And if we’re being honest, we all know this deep down. But knowing something and living it out are two different things.

Look at any great person in history, even our parents and grandparents who built their lives from scratch. They didn’t have it easy. They fought, they struggled, they faced rejection after rejection.

But they didn’t quit.

And that’s why they made it.

If we want to rise, if we want to build something that lasts, we must stop running from challenges and start embracing them.

This is something I’ve been thinking a lot about lately, and honestly, it’s one of the biggest reasons I’m writing a book.

This book is personal. It’s about the challenges I’ve faced, the setbacks that almost broke me, and how I turned them into stepping stones instead of stumbling blocks. It’s for people like you and me—especially our generation—who need to understand that resilience isn’t optional if we want to truly succeed.

I’ll share more details soon, but for now, I want to hear from you:

👉 Have you ever given up on something too soon? Looking back, do you wish you had pushed through?

Hit reply and let me know.

We’re in this together. And no matter what you’re facing right now, don’t quit.

Keep pushing, keep learning, and keep growing.

You got this.

Stay strong,

Darasimi.
