Hey ,
On my birthday, I had a flashback.
I thought about my school days and how birthdays used to look back then.
I would miss classes.
Hang out with friends.
Laugh endlessly.
Make a whole day out of it.
It was the norm.
Birthdays were a big deal.
But life has changed.
Everyone is now living their own journey.
We’re working.
We’re building.
We’re chasing purpose.
We’re growing businesses.
We’re carrying responsibilities.
And that’s part of growth.
At first, this reality can feel painful.
It can feel like something was lost.
Like life became too serious too quickly.
But when you come to terms with it, when you accept that this is the season you are in, you begin to see it differently.
You learn to maximize it.
You stop fighting reality and start working with it.
You stop wishing for what used to be and start honoring what is.
This is why I’ve grown to place a lot of value on relationships.
Because time is no longer as free as it once was.
Moments are no longer as frequent.
Seeing people is no longer automatic.
So when I get the chance to be with people I care about, I’m present.
I’m intentional.
I maximize it.
Conversations matter more now.
Moments matter more now.
People matter more now.
Growth teaches you that life isn’t always loud.
Sometimes it’s quiet.
Sometimes it’s demanding.
Sometimes it’s repetitive.
But it’s still meaningful.
And if you’re paying attention, you’ll see that this phase of life is not worse, just different.
It’s shaping you.
Stretching you.
Preparing you.
So today, I’m grateful.
Not just for another year of life, but for growth.
For perspective.
For the people who still matter deeply to me.
For the relationships I get to nurture intentionally.
Life looks different now.
And that’s okay.
I’m learning to honor it, maximize it, and grow through it.
Your Fave,
Darasimi
