Hey ,
I want to say this clearly, because many people still struggle with it.
It is not a shame to say you are not comfortable with something.
It does not make you weak.
It does not make you difficult.
It does not make you a bad person.
And it certainly does not make you less of a person.
One of the clear signs of growth is this:
You are no longer ashamed to speak when something doesn’t sit right with you.
Growth gives you language.
Growth gives you courage.
Growth gives you clarity.
When you are growing, you stop forcing yourself to be silent just to keep peace.
You stop smiling through discomfort.
You stop betraying yourself just to appear agreeable.
Being honest about discomfort is not immaturity.
It is awareness.
It means you know yourself well enough to recognize when a line has been crossed.
It means you respect yourself enough to speak up.
It means you value honesty over pretense.
Many people think maturity means enduring everything quietly.
That’s not true.
Maturity is knowing when to pause and say:
“I’m not okay with this.”
“This doesn’t work for me.”
“I need clarity here.”
“I need space.”
“I need to talk about this.”
Suppressing discomfort doesn’t make you strong.
It only makes issues grow quietly.
And over time, what you refuse to express will turn into resentment, bitterness, or withdrawal.
That’s not growth.
That’s damage.
So please hear this:
You are allowed to speak.
You are allowed to set boundaries.
You are allowed to be honest about how you feel.
You don’t need to shout.
You don’t need to fight.
You don’t need to explain endlessly.
But you do need to be truthful.
Because growth is not just about doing more.
It’s also about honoring yourself better.
If something makes you uncomfortable, say it.
If something doesn’t feel right, address it.
If you are not okay, don’t pretend that you are.
That honesty will save you.
And it will deepen your relationships, not destroy them.
Your Fave,
Darasimi
