Love without truth is empty. Truth without love is harsh.

The best kind of growth happens when truth and love walk together.

Hey ,

I’ve heard a lot of well-intentioned people say things like:

“I love you, but I have to say the truth.”

And I’ve also heard the other version:

“I didn’t want to hurt your feelings, so I kept quiet.”

But here’s the thing, there’s a deep relationship between love and truth.

You can’t say you love me but refuse to tell me the truth.

And you can’t say you’re speaking the truth if you do it without love.

Think about it for a moment.

The greatest transformation experience is during the salvation experience:

You come face-to-face with the truth of your weakness,

but at the same time, you’re embraced by the love of a Father.

That’s how change happens.

Truth and love. Together.

So if you’re “saying your mind,” say it in love.

And if you truly love someone, tell them when they’re wrong but do so with love.

Because truth without love is harsh.

And love without truth is deception.

They must coexist.

Here’s my question for you this week:

Do you lean more towards truth… or more towards love?

Who’s one person in your life you need to tell the truth in love to today?

Hit reply and let me know. I’d love to hear your perspective.
