According to what we've been informed, the next BMW 5 Series will have a classy, unobtrusive appearance. BMW essentially aims to use two different design philosophies for its various models: huge and dramatic for its higher end luxury automobiles, and subtle and formal for its more everyday models.

First, let's take a look at the statistics. Starting with the R8, it has a 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine that is capable of producing 570 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque. Only the back wheels are powered by this 1,590kg engine. However, it is pricey, costing at least £132,000. Finally, there is the BMW. Under the hood, a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with 625 horsepower and 750 pound-feet of torque is housed. As you’d expect, it’s heavier than R8, weighing in at 1,895kg. However, this one’s equipped with AWD, and this model is a fair bit cheaper than the Audi, costing £60,000.
