Short for time? Here's this week's new therapeutic art video!
DEATH-IVERSARY.
It's a new word, but there's nothing new about it. People have been facing the death-anniversaries of loved ones since the dawn of time. The death anniversary day can be filled with feelings and expectations, making it easy to feel apprehensive and even awkward as the day approaches.
How SHOULD you celebrate the yearly anniversary of a loved one’s death?
Well, to quote a past counselor of mine: “Don’t should on yourself.”
I searched YouTube for answers as to what to do on this significant day, and there was nothing normal, refreshing, or helpful that I could find! So I made my own video:
You should know that when it comes to facing a deathiversary, there is a lot of gray area to work with. You’re free to commemorate the day in a special way OR to treat it like it’s nothing special. If you choose to do something special, what that “special” entails is totally up to you - and keep in mind that it will change from year to year. Watch the video for lots of creative (and helpful!) ideas.
