We've been using the analogy of a farm. Truly, your life is like a farm, but it can end up looking like a bush - overgrown with weeds, if you don't take responsibility for it.
If you've walked through a bush before, you may have noticed that people treat it very poorly. While they may treat a garden with regard, admiration and respect, they walk over bushes and dump thrash on them.
If a farm becomes bushy, it begins to attract waste - sometimes, human waste (yuck!) This is also true for a life that is overgrown with weeds and distraction.
God did not design your life to be a dumping ground. You are cut out to be a fertile ground for the seeds of righteousness and success. However, yiu will need something important: SKILLS.
You can't grow seeds purely by good intentions.
You can't cultivate your soil on vibes.
You can't bring in a harvest just by being positive and "chilled".
No farmer prospers just by having a positive outlook issues.
Successful farmers may have a good attitude, but they have much more than that. They are greatly SKILFUL. SKILLS matter a lot in every area of human productivity.
A good farmer knows what crops to stake, what manure to use, what irrigation system to deploy, what trenches to dig and what season is ideal for what system. He doesn't just pray idly and expect great outcomes.
Please pray as much as you can, but make sure you acquire skills.
To be skilful means to be able to do something well.
SKILLS INCREASE YOUR OPPORTUNITIES.
If you think opportunities are scarce, acquire new skills and you may soon be surprised at how offers start rushing in your direction.
SKILLS POSITION YOU AS SPECIAL.
Everyone looks the same until there is a demand that only skilful people can deliver on.
SKILLS MULTIPLY YOUR REWARDS.
Think about those you pay the most in your life. Are they the ones who beg you or the ones who use their skills to add value to your life? From the gynaecologist to the pilots, IT personnel to AI consultants, you pay skilful people more.
SKILLS COMPOUND AND PROVIDE LONGTERM LEVERAGE.
Once you acquire a skill, it stands the chance to pay you for life. The more skilful you are, the easier it is for you to acquire other skills and to attract other skilful people. Skills position you for longterm relevance and impact.
Some of your prayer points are going to be answered by you acquiring skills.
David was anointed, but he was also skilful. He could fight, keep sheep, administer leadership, organize troops, write poetry, compose music, prophesy and lead movements. It's great to be anointed, but it's even better to have skillls that the anointing can activate.
Carry out a skills audit and see what you have. I did it last year and I was wowed at how many skills I had acquired over the years. I might tell you more about it later.
