Unlock Hidden Watts: My Eye-Opening Experience at Wattbike HQ

Ever had one of those weeks where you're juggling recovery, work commitments, and still trying to squeeze in some quality training?

Well, that was me last week. But let me tell you, sometimes the most unexpected experiences can lead to game-changing discoveries.

After pushing through a gruelling three-and-a-half-hour Zwift ride the previous weekend, I knew my body needed some TLC.

So, I scaled back my mileage, clocking in just 84 miles in under five hours.

A couple of commutes, my weekly Zwift ride, and two strength sessions were all I managed.

But you know what? Sometimes less is more, and I felt refreshed and ready to tackle my weekend Zwift ride around Richmond.

Now, here's where things get interesting.

On Thursday, I had the opportunity to visit Wattbike HQ in Nottingham.

And let me tell you, it was like being a kid in a candy store for cycling geeks! I was fully immersed, and captivated by the wealth of data and analytics.

Picture this: A full day of training, surrounded by cutting-edge technology and cycling experts. But amidst all the numbers and graphs, one key concept stood out – pedal efficiency.

You're probably wondering, "What's the big deal about pedal efficiency?" Well, hold onto your handlebars, because this might just blow your mind.

Did you know that improving your pedal efficiency could add up to 45 watts to your FTP?

That's right, 45 watts! And here's the kicker – you can achieve this without even improving your overall fitness. Sounds too good to be true, doesn't it?

But wait, there's more! I got a sneak peek at one of their new bikes (I know, I'm such a tease) and had the chance to test some of their fitness assessments on the Wattbike app. Talk about cutting-edge stuff!

The whole experience was eye-opening, to say the least. I left Wattbike HQ with new connections, exciting plans for future events (watch this space!), and a burning desire to work on my pedal efficiency.

So, what does this mean for you? Well, let me ask you this: Are you leaving watts on the table? Are you working harder instead of smarter?

Improving your pedal efficiency is like finding free speed. It's about maximizing every ounce of power you generate, ensuring it translates directly into forward motion. And the best part? You don't need to spend countless hours on the bike to see results.

However, understanding and improving pedal efficiency is not always a straightforward endeavor. It requires knowledge, proper technique, and consistent practice. That's where I come in.

Remember how I mentioned I'd be working on this in the future? Well, I want to extend that opportunity to you too.

Through my one-to-one mentorship program, I can help you unlock those hidden watts and take your cycling performance to the next level.

Imagine cutting significant time off your personal bests, powering up climbs with greater ease, or simply enjoying your rides more due to improved cycling efficiency. Sounds good, doesn't it?

So, are you ready to pedal smarter, not just harder? Are you prepared to unlock your full cycling potential?

If so, I invite you to learn more about my one-to-one mentorship program.
