We don’t know about you, but we’re having a hard time believing that summer is arriving already. We’re still trying to figure out where spring went. The good news is that summer means nice long days - something about it still being light into the evenings makes it feel like there is so much more time to do the things you want to accomplish. 

We hope your June is full of good books, good friends, and flowing words! We’ve got some things planned to help you keep the creativity blooming! 

Workshop Wednesdays

June 4th:  Inciting Incidents with Eileen: Come and explore how you can kick off your story with a bang and keep readers turning pages.

June 11th: Inciting Incidents Deep Dive with Jenny: A discussion of this month’s craft topic and a chance to see how you might apply the concepts to your manuscript.

June 18th: Mind Mapping with Jacqui: Here’s your chance to harness the collection brain of the community! Brainstorm plot problems, prompts, or character issues. 

June 25th: Open Q & A with Eileen: Have a burning question about writing craft, publishing or promotion? Now is your chance to get Eileen’s take on the issue.

Events:

GENRE MEET-UPS/ ACCOUNTABILITY GROUPS: Be sure to check the events schedule for the regular genre meet-ups and weekly accountability groups. Be sure to join those communities (they’re all listed down the left side of the main page) so that  you know when events are coming up. 

NEW WRITERS: Are you a new writer, want to build up some craft skills, or just new to the Academy and looking for some friends, join us at our New Writers Meet-up the First and Third Tuesdays of the month at 5pm PT. The first Tuesdays will be a topic discussion. The third Tuesday of the month will be open mic night. All genres welcome. All members (even published) welcome.  

ATTIC JOURNAL: June 4th 9am! Come and jump start your creativity.
