Spring is about renewal. I’m always excited to see what looks like dried and dead twigs start to bud and new leaves appear. Tender shoots start poking their heads out of the ground, the days get longer, the sun a bit warmer. Being creative also has a life cycle, sometimes it’s blooming and spreading like a mint plant going crazy, and other times it feels like your muse is infested with mites and nothing will grow again.

This is your reminder that if your creativity feels a bit dead at times- it will come back. Be patient. Plant additional seeds. Do some weeding of those negative thoughts. Hang in there.

May 7th:  Benefits of Different POV with Eileen: Let’s discuss how different points of view impact your story and considerations on the impact of those on your story. 

May 14th:  Deeper Dive with Jenny: Jenny will lead a discussion on the Point of View discussion and provide chances for people to look at how they can apply it to their own writing practice. 

May 21st : Mind Mapping with Jacqui: Want an opportunity to brainstorm? Toss around ideas with other writers and be a part of that creative spark.

May 28th: Blue Pencil with Bonnie: Here is your chance to get some feedback of up to 750 words reviewed with the group and get some feedback.

NEW WRITERS: Are you a new writer, want to build up some craft skills, or just new to the Academy and looking for some friends, join us at our New Writers Meet-up the First and Third Tuesdays of the month at 5pm PT.   The first Tuesdays will be a topic discussion.  The third Tuesday of the month will be open mic night.  All genres welcome.  All members (even published) welcome.  This month’s topic will be creating story conflict. Hope to see you there.
