Hey Friends!

Well, it's been a wild ride and it will continue to be so unless something drastic changes. In the meantime, we have to keep on trucking, right? We have to live our lives, take our kids to school, work, clean house, walk the dog, run errands...

How do you find your peace when things get overwhelming?

Me? Well, writing is one of them, even if it is work. I also like to stress clean when things get rough. Not just clean, but cull. As much as I want to do the entire house, my body hates it when I do that. I have a life-long arthritic disease that's caused a lot of damage to my body, so I have to take my time. But lately, I've been working on the house. Things have gotten a bit out of control since I started working as an author. I don't have a lot of time to do these things, and my husband works even more. I pushed a book off my list to free me some of that time.

We're moving in two years. That may seem far away, but with both of us so busy, we are getting rid of the clutter now, organizing, taking our time. So when the time comes, I hope we aren't overwhelmed with things we don't need. Everything useable and in good condition gets donated. There are no yard sales or garage sales. I have one more book this year and doing that. It's been a nice shift and distracting.

There IS a lot going on, and I have a lot to share on here today. It's been a hot minute since I did a newsletter last. I hope you stick around and check out all the news. Some of it is really exciting!

I'm gonna be honest. I'm not sure I'm going to continue this series. I'm excited to write Atlas' story, but the others... not so much. I have other stories I think I would rather write. We'll see!

NEW SERIES ANNOUNCEMENT

NOT IN THE CARDS SERIES

I have been planning out the first book of this series for almost two years now and I kept putting it off. It was only supposed to be one book, but then I started to think about what I could do with it as a series.

Now, I’m not sure how many will be into this. I am a tad worried 😅. It’s a deviation from what I’ve been previously writing - skateboarders and assassins lol. These will be about Single Dads. But not just any single dads. These are sudden or unexpected fathers. Men who never intended to have children or came into children when they least expected it. So, it’s them navigating sudden fatherhood. This will have my usual hurt/comfort vibe.

Not only that, but this revolves around a community of fathers who play poker once a week, forming friendships and bonds to give the men a healthy outlet. They already have children and are married. Some are single. Some of the book characters are not a part of this community until they end up with kids.

The book titles revolved around poker terms... idioms. I have five books planned, but if they do really well, I can add more. But for now, this is all I plan to write.

I have all the covers done. I wanted the consistent across the board, so it helps to not do them one at a time. But since book one’s cover is done, I thought I’d set up the preorder. March will be here before we realize it.

“I never wanted nor was I supposed to be a father. Now, I’m having to foster care for a 14-year-old grieving boy.” This story shows that no matter how well you build your house of cards, it doesn’t take much for it to come tumbling down.
