Hello !
Well, as soon as the holidays are over, we've had our first freeze. You all are probably like, 'Ugh, yeah, it's winter!' I know, but I'm in Texas, lol. Here ice forms on the INSIDE of your widows. It hit around 16F around here, which is what? -7 or so Celcius? At least we didn't lose power like the last time. But now the kids are back at school, giving me some quiet to work.
Ignore my dirty kitchen window, haha.
And the new year has started off great. I'm NOT behind on my work. That would be a BAD start, lol. So, I'm able to breathe and push through with what I need to do.
I've also begun painting again. I'm not sure how much of you all know this, but I used to be an artist before I was ever a writer. I gave it up a while ago during the COVID lockdown. I just lost my love and creativity for it. But now I've been craving it. I'm working on my first painting in three years! What do you all think?
I'm going to give him a girlfriend when I'm done 😆.

His Bane is now with my beta readers, who are about to wrap it up, and then it's on to my wonderful editor.
I love my Sully and Malik. I really, really tried to keep Sully true to his psychopathy, so I realize it's going to be a hard sell to get people to love him. This book spans 17 years between Sully and Malik. This is their story. It's nothing like His Death Bringer, which is book one. We also get to read how The District (the Assassin organization) was founded.
He is mine. I don't care how long it takes. I will have Malik Amin.

BOOK RECOMMENDATION
Another beautiful story by Jensen. Noah is a massive, tattooed fireman who has the flaunty, outgoing Latino policeman named Joe drooling at their first meeting. Little does Joe know that Noah has secrets and struggles. Noah hides who he really is, and not even Noah even knows for sure what's wrong with him. It doesn't take long for Joe to befriend the larger man and see there is depth to him. Soon, Joe finds himself wanting more. Noah was the first man who really pulled Joe away from the fun and wanted something serious with another man.
This is a wonderful and emotional journey into discovering and accepting who you are despite your fears. It's more than that. There's trauma to deal with that can change the very fiber of your being. But Joe isn't afraid to hold on to what he wants and help the other man find and accept himself.
Side notes, both families are wonderful. Lots of sweet sisters and lovely mothers. There are some great friends too. Not a lot of outside haters, but tons of supporters. Wonderful family dynamics.
This was a wonderful and emotional read.
