🎁 A wizard, an unwilling assistant and an explosive secret

Hello! Just a quick email today to let you know that Subversive, the first book in my romantic fantasy Clandestine Magic trilogy, is free to download from Amazon for the next few days.

If you haven't read it yet but think it might be your cup of tea, now's a good chance to grab it. (And to pass the word on, if you don't mind!)

You can find Subversive here. Remember, it's only free through this Sunday, Dec. 6.

Here's the story in a nutshell:

In an America controlled by wizards and 100 years behind on women's rights, Beatrix Harper counts herself among the resistance—the Women's League for the Prohibition of Magic. Then Peter Blackwell, the only wizard her town has ever produced, unexpectedly returns home and presses her into service as his assistant.

Beatrix fears he wants to undermine the League. His real purpose is far more dangerous for them both.

(If you like to know some things upfront, like whether there are tropes that would make you dash your e-reader against the floor in disgust, you can get those details here. Or just hit reply and ask me.)

Here's what itsKoo Reviews said about the book: “Reading Subversive was one of the best experiences I had all year. It felt like all my favorite genres … melded into one.” (Yay!)

Eight years after I started dreaming up this alternate reality, the full trilogy is out in the real world. I'm feeling a bit verklempt! Thanks so much to all of you who've given these novels a try.

Cassia needs to know the truth about her past, and the only one who can tell her is a Hesperine—a fanged, immortal creature of the night. His magic could end her mortal life in a heartbeat. But she isn't afraid of him. She knows the real monster is the human king, her father. If he finds out she’s consorting with the enemy, he’ll send her to the executioner.

Lio must do the impossible as a Hesperine ambassador: negotiate with mortals who hate him. Cassia is different. She's his hope of stopping the humans from hunting down his people. But politics aren't why she captivates him. The temptation of her blood puts his diplomacy to the ultimate test. If he takes even a taste of the king's daughter, he'll provoke the war he's trying to prevent.

In the mood for still more books?

Here's an all-genre giveaway with everything from a murder mystery story game to a meditative coloring book. And if you're a Kindle Unlimited subscriber, here are free-to-read novels that range from a Wizard of Oz retelling to a story about a fae who learns that honor and loyalty aren't one and the same.
