OK, this time I really mean it: Now you can grab the entire Clandestine Magic trilogy and a new short story in that world for just 99 cents.
(As you might have noticed, I tried to schedule this heads up in December ... and actually sent it instead. Gah.)
Beatrix Harper is an activist with the Women's League for the Prohibition of Magic. Peter Blackwell is the wizard who comes home, mysteriously, to serve as her town's jack-of-all-trades omnimancer ... and then insists on hiring her as his assistant.
She would either be ideal or a monumental mistake, Peter thinks.
He's right on both counts.
Here's what some lovely reviewers said about the books:
“Clandestine Magic is the type of series that you think about long after you finish it.” — One Book More
“It feels more like I’m closing a chapter on my life, as though I’m saying goodbye to friends, and less like I’m simply closing a book.” — itsKoo Reviews
“The story had me on the figurative edge of my seat.” — Life in the Book Lane Reviews
“Hard to put down, even for something as important as eating dinner.” — Bookshelf Adventures
“Subversive is the first book in the Clandestine Magic trilogy and when I finished it I immediately one-clicked the next two books.” — Smart Bitches, Trashy Books
Many of you have already read it (you're awesome that way), so I wrote a new short story for this box set with you in mind. It's about the dance Beatrix and Peter didn't get ... and one they did.
One of the new points of view: Mrs. Price, widow of a mill owner and the richest person in town:
How Mayor Croft managed to rope her into sponsoring this frippery was beyond her. Really—a dance. Just an excuse for unmarried people to stand too close and flirt and touch.
“They’re not going to marry if they can’t fall in love,” the mayor had said. (Love! Hah.)
He’d worn her down, that was what. She was far too soft a touch. She surveyed the room from her seat of honor at the edge of the dance floor, vowing to put a stop to any improper behavior she saw.
I'd love to know what you think of the story. Hit reply to tell me what you liked or didn't like and who your favorite new point-of-view character is.
(P.S. This box set starts from scratch like any other book, so if you've been meaning to leave a quick review for the series, this is now the most helpful place to drop it. Thank you for helping other readers figure out if this might be something they'd like!)
