My trilogy about a wizard and the anti-magic activist he hires is officially out in the world today as a box set, complete with a new bonus short story. Woot!
It's in Kindle Unlimited, so you can jump right in if you have a subscription. For everyone else, I have a sweet deal coming next week. (Not, um, last week. Sorry about the email that sped off to your inboxes early as I cried "no, wait, come baaack!")
You guys, it was so much fun writing the bonus story, which opens at a dance between Subversive and Radical with some new points of view. Like Beatrix's tenant Caroline Massey, who sees more than people realize because everyone overlooks her. A short excerpt:
Miss Harper leaned forward in her seat. It looked unconsciously done, like she was caught in the grip of a powerful force. (What force, after all, was more powerful than attraction?) “Did Mayor Croft press you to come, too?”
“Yes, but that’s not why I’m here.”
Omnimancer Blackwell didn’t elaborate and she didn’t reply, both of them simply looking at each other as if the reason were obvious. Caroline’s heart raced. Her hands trembled. She shouldn’t be watching, she knew it, and yet she could not tear her gaze away.
“Will you dance with me, Beatrix?” he whispered.
You'll hear from Beatrix and Peter, too. I'm very fond of their perspectives after all these years.
The box set is three books for the price of two, normally. But that's not the sweet deal I was talking about. This is:
Next week, you can nab the whole thing for 99 cents.
I'll send an email then so you don't have to remember. I don't know about you, but I have 52,000 alarms on my phone to remind me to do things that I would otherwise forget. (Oh, speaking of reminders: This might be a good time to add me — [email protected] — to your email address book so you can be sure you get the message in your inbox.)
But all you KU folks, there's no need to wait:
Let me know what you think when you're done. You can always hit reply to one of my emails to reach me.

A few more cool & bookish things
Another deal I'd highly recommend you snap up: The first book in A.J. Lancaster's delicious romantic fantasy Stariel series is free through Dec. 29.
I kept seeing the beautiful covers and thinking, "Oh, those look cool. I should read them." Well, sometimes a long TBR list is useful because when I finally started the first one, the fourth in the quartet was just about to come out. Highly enjoyable binge reading ensued.
Here's what book one, The Lord of Stariel, is about:
The Lord of Stariel is dead. Long live the Lord of Stariel. Whoever that is.
Everyone knows who the magical estate will choose for its next ruler. Or do they?
Will it be the lord's eldest son, who he despised?
His favourite nephew, with the strongest magical land-sense?
His scandalous daughter, who ran away from home years ago to study illusion?
Hetta knows it won't be her, and she's glad of it. Returning home for her father's funeral, all Hetta has to do is survive the family drama and avoid entanglements with irritatingly attractive local men until the Choosing. Then she can leave.
Except you know it won't be that simple. One of the reasons: The fae are returning to Hetta's mortal world. And her family's estate is right at the center of it all.

You made it to the end! You're awesome. (Of course.)
