Bring a pencil and some paper and join a community of writers. Use the time to work on a project or join in on the prompts and games provided. The group meets every Monday night at 6:00 pm in the library history room.

Clover Kids is a fun program designed for youth having just completed kindergarten through third grade. Each session we will learn about a different topic through STEM activities, crafts, reading books, and playing games. Youth will also practice their communication skills, learn to work with a team, strengthen their fine motor skills, and make new friends.
Who: Youth who have completed Kindergarten through 3rd grade
Date: July 25, July 27, August 1, August 3, August 8, August 10
Time: 10:00AM-11:00AM
Location: Clear Lake Library Meeting Room
Cost: $20 for all 6 sessions (Space is limited. Scholarships available)

Enjoy a Lego® open build at the library for an afternoon. We provide the materials, you provide the imagination! Children under 8 need to be accompanied by an adult.

At the end of the summer, we like to celebrate by taking our story time outside! For 5 weeks in August, join us at Central Gardens of North Iowa for story time on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. If the weather is rainy, we’ll have it inside the pavilion. Storytime will not be held at the library these weeks.

Join us at Central Gardens to learn about natural dyes that you can find right in the garden. You can bring your own white materials to dye or use the ones provided!

Dystopia is an imagined state or society in which there is great suffering or injustice. Usually these imagined states end up ominously reflective of our own society.
IQ84 by Haruki Murakami: The year is 1984 and the city is Tokyo.
A young woman named Aomame follows a taxi driver's enigmatic suggestion and begins to notice puzzling discrepancies in the world around her. She has entered, she realizes, a parallel existence, which she calls 1Q84 - "Q" is for "question mark". A world that bears a question.
Meanwhile, an aspiring writer named Tengo takes on a suspect ghostwriting project. He becomes so wrapped up with the work and its unusual author that, soon, his previously placid life begins to come unraveled.

Find us at Central Gardens for Fresh on Friday from 9:00 - 11:00 am. Look for the bike with the big green box on the front. You can browse through and check out books from out book bike, Wheelie Good Books, or you could even pick one out to sit and read. We will also have an activity or two set up for the kids! Don't have a card? You can sign up for one with us at the book bike as well!
