Bring a pencil and some paper and join a community of writers. Use the time to work on a project or join in on the prompts and games provided. The group meets every Monday night at 6:00 pm in the library history room.

Clover Kids is a fun program designed for youth having just completed kindergarten through third grade. Each session we will learn about a different topic through STEM activities, crafts, reading books, and playing games. Youth will also practice their communication skills, learn to work with a team, strengthen their fine motor skills, and make new friends.
Who: Youth who have completed Kindergarten through 3rd grade
Date: July 25, July 27, August 1, August 3, August 8, August 10
Time: 10:00AM-11:00AM
Location: Clear Lake Library Meeting Room
Cost: $20 for all 6 sessions (Space is limited. Scholarships available)

Whether you are an old pro or new to the game, players of all ages and skill levels are invited to the Library for Casual Chess. It’s a casual environment in which to learn the game or play a pick-up game with others. The library has several chess sets available to use, or feel free to bring your own.

Storytime for children age 5 and under is held at 10:30 a.m. every Wednesday, year-round. Story time consists of stories, body movement activities, songs, and rhymes, helping children grow the skills they need to become lifelong readers. Young children and their grown-ups are invited to join us for these free weekly events!

The teen Summer Reading prize is changing a bit this year. Every teen who completes their Summer Reading log is invited to this teens-only lock-in at the library. You’ll get the rare opportunity to spend the night at the library playing all kinds of games, eating snacks, and watching movies until the sun comes up. What a way to end the summer!
