I know, I know, I vanished into the ether for nearly the entire month of December. But now you're about to get a bunch of newsletters hitting your inbox, because your favorite indie authors have got multiple bookish events to help you close out the year in style.

To be incredibly honest, it hasn't been a great year for me on the writing front. 😬 Only managed to toss three books onto the retailers this year—one of which was a boxed set—and I feel like I've let you down. Should have been able to finish at least a couple more novellas in my brand-new Elemental Gifts series, but unfortunately burnout crushed my creative prowess beneath its iron boot.
I guess I'm done churning out full-length novels with brand new casts of characters every 3 months. 😔
But it looks like there's good news peeking over the horizon. Assuming the creeks don't rise, there should be quite a few brand new stories from the Teutonic Fantasy Realm heading your way in 2025. Keep an eye out for more info later on this month.

The Promised Volcano Pix
In my last newsletter I said I'd share some photos from a dormant volcano my husband and I visited on our road trip from South Carolina to Las Vegas. And considering many of us are trapped in winter's frigid claws right now, how about some ancient heat to warm us up?
The Bandera Volcano is long dormant like most of the volcanoes in the continental U.S., so nowadays tourists can brave the heat to learn about plants tough enough to withstand a brutal environment. Including the Ponderosa pines dotting the landscape above...and the young mullein plant right here:
If you're ever traveling along I-40 through New Mexico, I can definitely recommend a quick stop at the Bandera Volcano. There's also an ice cave on the property, a stark contrast to the dry heat of the dormant volcano. On the way back to the highway, hit up Blake's Lotaburger for a tasty sandwich topped with hatch green chilies. (Which aren't as spicy as they sound.)
