What's going on in your corner of the world? I hope you got to spend some time enjoying life over the weekend, whether you celebrate Easter or not. We've got Earth Day peeking around the corner, so maybe I should hunt for some more violets. 😉 (Unfortunately, my husband mowed most of them last weekend.)

Writing Updates

I'm nearing the halfway point of Numinous Fortune, and pretty sure I emotionally died (again) while working on Chapter 17 yesterday. Barriers just keep cropping up between Swanie and Augustin, the man who loves her more than life itself. Will they ever manage to get their HEA? 🥺

Not yet . . . but thankfully the story isn't over.

Next week I'll be pivoting from Numinous Fortune to my first ever box set, His Name Was Augustin Books 1-3. I've got some bonus content to iron out that can't be found elsewhere, and on that note . . . .

✨ I Love You Guys SO MUCH!!! ✨

I've mentioned that I'm not exactly a "successful" indie author yet, at least where income is concerned. To be incredibly blunt, usually my preorder numbers hover around 5 books across all platforms. Friends and family—who tend to be super supportive until they realize this "author thing" is a career—are the reason the preorders for Arcane Gateway outshone my other books.

Numinous Fortune Snippet

Since I had to suffer through the emotional trauma of Chapter 17, it's time for you to do the same. Support group, anyone? 🙃

Icy teardrops began to fall upon my lap as I tried to put my harried thoughts into words. “Augustin . . . I can’t . . . I can’t keep following the dark for a solution to all my problems. See what that’s done to our people, to my son from the future, to you. The Prince cast the filial curse upon you to ban you from Muniche, but it turned you into a dead man enslaved to a demon. I believe . . . I believe love and goodness are powerful enough to fix this. I have to stop messing around with evil for a fleeting glimpse of the light.”

I blinked at my husband through my tears, my spirit pleading for his understanding, if not for his acceptance. But to my consternation, I watched his perfect face shatter into agony as he whispered, “Then your devotion to Muniche supersedes your love for me. I suppose I have earned it.”

He vanished from the parlor before I could begin to think of a reply, a single sob trailing in his wake. Augustin’s distress broke me, and I curled into a ball on his couch, weeping tears that sliced at my corneas. I did not have the capacity to make this decision. Augustin or Muniche. Choose Muniche, lose the man whose strength had buoyed me for decades, whose skills rooted an inhuman army from the earth. Choose Augustin, and hand the fates of Muniche’s children to a demon for as long as the Teuton people existed.
