Gift of Darkness, the third full-length novel in the Elemental Bloodlines series, is 99¢ for the month of June! This is the first time I've deeply discounted Doro's love story with Amira, so now's the time to snag it if it's not on your e-reader yet.
Gift of Darkness can be read as a standalone, just like all the other books in my Elemental Bloodlines series. It's the first book in the series that takes place in the fictional Austrian village of Wildertal, a mountain retreat brimming with a wide variety of magic...including the sinister variety. 😉
Life's not so simple for darkness witch Doro, who has harbored a powerful love for her adopted sister since they were young teens. Since Amira is not a Teuton herself, she has no magic of her own—which means all the witches and priests in their community look down on Doro for "disrespecting" her magical bloodline. Magical Gift Update
It's really starting to look like I ground my creative muse into ash when I wrote the final Elemental Bloodlines book, Gift of Snow. 😖 I've had multiple readers tell me it's the best book in that series, so I guess my lingering burnout makes sense? Still, I'm poking at the embers in my brain every day, and Magical Gift is beginning to evolve into a rather...complicated story.
It's still going to be a novella, 10 chapters at most. But right now every time I turn a page another complication shows up, so my witchy heroine will have a LOT to work through by the end. 🔥
A while back one of my favorite fantasy photographers, Elizabeth Elder, shared a picture that reminds me of the main character in Magical Gift. If you've read Gift of Snow, then you might remember her....
Magical Gift spotlights the love story of Sylvia Ensminger, witch of dark energy and daughter of the Keyholder of Wels. If you want some background info on Sylvia's character, you can find out a few things in Gift of Snow. But you'll be able to read and enjoy Magical Gift whether you've read any of my other books or not! I'm doing my best to bring out the qualities of Teutonic magic along with Sylvia's personal traits and goals in a concise, relatable manner.
