Free Neighbors Like That,

Aug 20, 2021 12:24 am

We're getting straight to business today because:

  • Baby's sleeping on my lap, a potty training toddler is running around and the new goats keep getting out of their pen. The kids named them Red, Skipper, and Flower. They're great additions to Cuddly and Bev. šŸ
  • I have a list of organizing projects to get done over the next week before I dive into the writing cave again.
  • How to Write and Keep the Kids Alive is coming back to Instagram. If you have a specific question you can message it to me there!
  • Completely random: if you want to keep up with the books I've been reading you can follow me on Bookbub. My goal is to keep my recommended books list updated with the books I've read and enjoyed!

Audiobook Giveaway!

Audiobook giveaway winners have been announced and notified this morning!!!

And I messed up. I forgot to ask for first names in the giveaway, so I'm not able to announce them in the newsletter. (Because trust me, no one wants their private email shared!)

ANYWAYS. Note to self. If you want to announce winners you need a name. šŸ¤Ŗ

In case you want one, you can snag an audiobook version of World's Worst Boyfriend here.

Vacations Like This sneak peek:

*This is a completely unedited peek. šŸ˜‰*

Chapter 1: Kimber

ā€œRidiculous.ā€

Someone was standing in the middle of the kitchen. Someone other than me.

Which was a problem.

Because I was supposed to be on vacation. In a cabin. Alone.

I was pitching to throw a hissy fit because someoneā€”a very large someoneā€”had their head in myrefrigerator. I had wanted three weeks of judgement free chip eating, but now I was about to be robbed in my lovely mountain cabin. Possibly murdered.

That sent a chill down my spine. Those chips werenā€™t going to eat themselves and I didnā€™t want to think about them being lonely.

The man reached a large hand into the fridge.

ā€œDonā€™t take the nacho cheese!ā€ Did I just yell that at someone who may or may not kill me? Yes, yes I did. He closed the door and stood up to his full height. Even standing at the top of the stairs looking down at him, I could tell he was a giant.

Is it ever too late to leave the friend zone?

Hi, my name is Bree Camden, and Iā€™m hopelessly in love with my best friend and star quarterback Nathan Donelson (as is half of America, judging by the tabloids and how much the guy dates). The first step is admitting, right? Except I can never admit it to him because he clearly doesnā€™t see me that way, and the last thing I want is for things to get weird between us.

Nothing but good old-fashioned, no-touching-the-sexiest-man-alive, platonic friendship for us! Everything is exactly how I like it! Yes. Good. (Iā€™m not crying, Iā€™m just peeling an onion.)

Our friendship is going swimmingly until I accidentally spill my beans to a reporter after too much tequila, and now the world seems to think Nathan and I belong together. Oh, and did I mention we have to date publicly for three weeks until after the Super Bowl because we signed a contract with...oops, forgot I canā€™t tell anyone about that!

Bottom line is, now my best friend is smudging all the lines and acting very un-platonic, and Iā€™m just trying to keep my body from bursting into flames every time he touches me. How am I going to make it through multiple weeks of fake dating Nathan without anything changing between us? Especially when it almost-sorta-kinda seems like heā€™s fighting for a completely different outcome?

Send help.

XO Bree

Music was his life, until it cost him his brotherā€¦

As lead singer of the world-famous band, Three Odd Lizards, Caleb Roman had it all: money, women, and a superstar life envied by millions.

In a split second, everything changed.

Now, silenced by grief, he lives the life of a recluse, consumed with guilt, and tormented by regret.

Small town girl, with no room for dreamsā€¦

Gabby thought she had it all, her dream job in Paris, great friends around her, and a perfect fiancƩ.

In a single moment, everything changed.

Frivolous hopes and dreams were packed away, replaced by duty and responsibility. A single mum, running the family bakery and caring for her parents, there just isn't time for 'what ifs', and no use for them in small town Beryl Creek.

A chance encounterā€¦

Swapping bustling Sydney for a short break in the country, Caleb sees no harm in being less than truthful about his identity with the locals.

When Gabby and Caleb's worlds collide, mutual attraction sparks, igniting long dormant desires. In each other's arms they both find what it is they never knew they wanted, but as dawn breaks, will one night be enough?

When the paparazzi storms into town, confronting Gabby and revealing Caleb's true identity, will Gabby forgive his lies, or will she walk away forever?
