I'll tell you something: I wouldn't do what I do if it wasn't for you. Publishing is hard. It's difficult to publish. And if it wasn't for you guys encouraging me and supporting me on this self-publishing journey, then I would simply write for myself. Because it's scary as heck to put your words out into the world.
You're throwing pieces of your soul out there for people to critique and tear apart. It hurts.
But it also heals.
Time and time again, I will talk with a reader and discover some aspect in one of my romcoms that meant so much to them. A part that they related to so much, or a character that FELT like them. Or someone has had a horrible week and was finally able to sit down and laugh at one of my books.
That? That is why I publish, and why I put stories out into the world. And you guys taking the time to tell me how stories affect you? That is priceless to me. ❤️
Writing update:
- Vacations Like This is being edited this month. I always tell myself I'll take a writing break while a book is being edited....but I never do. Which leads to the next writing update...
- I'm writing Tuesdays Like That. Jordan and Tuesday get their story! A preorder and release date will be announced SOON. (Hopefully in the next newsletter.)
- The Boones Dock series is coming in 2022. Ford will get his story. Jenny Boone is moving to town....
- Kindle Vella: Did you know I'm publishing on Kindle Vella? The new episodic reading platform from amazon? Rhian and Sawyer are getting a longer story. I wrote a short story (Stuck in Love) giving them their happily ever after...and it wasn't enough. There is SOOOO much more of them to dive into that they have earned themselves a place in the spotlight. You can read the first episode for free here!
