 A fresh, ground version from your whole nutmeg has a stronger fragrance and a more potent flavor than ground nutmeg.

 One of the advantages of purchasing and using whole nutmeg is that if stored correctly, the whole nutmeg seed can stay fresh for many years. Then when you grate it the flavor is released, and it's just heavenly....

And really, you need this for all those Autumnal dishes we are whipping up this time of year, am I right?
