CIVILERA

Structural Engineering is an easy subject if one learns it the right way.

Right way is by appreciating all the basic concepts, scheme development and then learning the right tools with right cross checking and manual calculations of the necessary things.

Here is a course that teach you how a project can be designed in a consulting way.

What you will learn

  • Understanding a project - Client requirement,Architectural Requirement,Site Restrictions
  • Asking the right questions and deciding the structural scheme that is feasible keeping in mind structural, architectural, client and site suitability
  • Load calculations and fine tuning it to make it as refined as possible
  • Wind & seismic load calculations and analysis
  • Thumb rules to check the automatic load generations and analysis
  • Result interpretation and Design of all members manually and using software
  • Detailing rules and sketching rebars by hand and then convert it to a drawing format
  • Documenting the design and details

Work flow

  • Architectural information supplied in CAD format
  • Convert this in to Architectural 3D in Revit (Not a structural requirement. This is a course for those who need to learn Revit to suit Architecture)
  • Modelling in ETABS after manually developing the basic structural scheme.
  • Load calculations as per codes and application in ETABS.
  • Analysis and cross checking the same.
  • Designing using ETABS.
  • Foundation soil report interpretation
  • Analysis and design of foundation systems
  • Verifying the design using manual methods.
  • Preparing hand sketches for all member details
  • Converting this in to CAD and REVIT
  • Documenting the designs and drawings

Software used

  • ETABS
  • Revit
  • CAD
  • CSI Detailer

Mode : Live online and self paced online. Both options available

Duration : 3 months for the live classes
