, my mum died on the first day of this month.

By 2 AM on Thursday, August, 2024 to be precise.

And since then, I've been ridden with grief.

I always heard this saying that no one feels the loss of a mother more than her son…

And I prayed and wished that I never got to experience that…

But life had other plans.

Plans I couldn't control and I didn't have a say in.

It's excruciating , I won't lie or try to hide it.

I won't hide behind being strong or prepared.

I still cry on some nights since then…heck, I might even cry tonight lol.

I still experience moments where I wallow in self-pity.

Moments where I wonder why life happened this way.

Losing my dad first and then my mom too.

It's harrowing.

But , each time I feel this pain…

I remind myself to be grateful.

It's hard to be in these times…

Nonetheless, I still find reasons to be.

I still see glimmers of light and beauty in my life.

I still see reasons to live with energy and enthusiasm.

So , this is a reminder to you…

No matter the situation you are in…

Once you seek reasons to be grateful…

You will find them.

Be grateful .
