A Weird Sales Advice

, watching a podcast on my smart TV every Saturday morning is a habit I'm growing to love…



I'd normally read a book for 55 mins as usual…



But I decided to add a variety to my learning by using podcasts to replace books on Saturdays.



So instead of reading a book on the black couch in my bedroom where I write these letters to you (as I'm doing now)...



I'd brew my coffee and sit on the blue couch in my living room instead and devour a podcast episode.



I've been loving it so far.



Anyways, to the point of this letter…



Last Saturday as usual…



I brewed my coffee,



Sat on the couch in my living room and decided to watch a podcast…



But instead I stumbled upon an old video by a guy named Jim Rohan



Now I've heard of Jim Rohn, but I'd be honest, I never truly knew him like that…



So I decided to watch the 48 minute's video that was tagged as motivational



Few minutes into the video, I got an epiphany from something Jim Rohn said about selling and honesty.



He said and I quote:



“I believe the secret to selling is not playing smart or having the right words to say. Instead, the secret to selling is total unbridled honesty.



When I was really into direct selling, I sold a supplement to a man by being honest.



He asked me: “Jim, why should I buy this supplement?”



And I replied: “Because if I don't sell it to you, I'll lose my job. And I know it'll help you, but also I don't want to lose my job”



Now when Jim Rohn said this,



It immediately struck me how much I had sold in the past by being totally honest.



I remember being honest to a client that hired me by telling him: “I had bills to pay and I needed clients badly”



Now note: I wasn't begging him.



I had first told him how I could help him…



But when I dropped that line in his DM…



He started taking me seriously all of a sudden.



Crazy stuff.



Jim also said that honesty also makes your prospect honest.



They stop hiding behind these sleazy objections…



And instead become truthful to you as to why they would or wouldn't be taking your offer.



This was an eye opener for me because I also thought back to those selling situations where I'm being honest instead of salesy…



And I noticed in retrospect that these prospects replied to me with sincere honesty too..



No objections I had to worm my way around…

No lies…



Just truthfully telling me what was what.



Crazy stuff.



I feel you should try this out



If you sell anything on the internet, I feel you should try it out.



On your next sales conversation…



Try to be as honest as possible about why you want the sale…



And watch magic happen.
