In 1985, Steve Jobs left Apple to create NeXT…(he later came back)

Even though it looked like NeXT was a failed company (which in reality it was)...

What most people didn't figure was that Steve learned something he might never have learned if he had never left Apple.

And that was:

How to manage a company.

By leaving Apple, he was able to learn these from the next 2 businesses he tried his hands at: NeXT and Pixar

And it was this skill he learned that helped him grow Apple to the most valuable company in the world when he returned in 1997

That's 12 years of learning and re-inventing himself.

Pretty impressive.

Now why am I telling you this ?

You see, one of the major things I’ve learnt from studying the life of Steve Jobs through his Biography written by Walter Isaacson is:

The ability to reinvent oneself

Steve had this ability to learn from his experiences (even though he didn't seem like he was learning)...

Everyone would watch him act dogged and stubborn…

But what they didn't know was that he was busy changing some parts of his behavior to adapt…

He was open-minded yet stubborn…

But even though what most saw was his stubborn self…

Those close to him discovered how open he was to change.

Now how does this apply to you and I?

The truth is:

In all honesty…

I want to start over.

I have literally taken a break from running my online business for months…

And all I'd been doing was rallying round and trying to build the momentum to get back to work.

I've been distracted by other stuff that has kept me busy.

And now more than ever…

I realize that I'm needed.

I've been able to reinvent myself…

I've refined my values…

Re-written my KRAs and KPIs…

And there's so much magic I want to create in my space.

It's been fun threading lightly but now it's time to get back to work…

And to get started…

I would be re-introducing myself.
