, something painful happened during my boxing training yesterday morning.
My coach collected my phone because I was holding it while running.
Oblivious to my coach and unfortunately for me…
I had just taken a trade and watched it closely while running.
But when the coach collected my phone, I couldn't monitor the trade anymore…
The trade went on to do a reversal and I lost $60 in one fell swoop.
It was painful for me so I was pissed at first…
But I learned something from what happened…
And that is:
Most times in life, we come across people who feel they are doing us some form of good by helping us make some decisions…
Most times it's our parents or a guardian we look up to.
They feel their decisions are best for us so they push for us to take them…
Or sometimes they even take them whether we like it or not.
Now in my coach’s defense…
He probably felt he helped me train hard by taking away the perceived distraction which was my phone…
But what he didn't know was that I already have experience working out while monitoring a trade I'm taking.
I trade regularly…
And a lot of times, the market coincides with my morning training time so I had to learn how to train hard while still monitoring my trades at intervals…
But my coach didn't know about that…
And that's pretty fair.
I don't blame him for it
So I'm not angry at him because I know he did that with my best interest in mind.
Why am I telling you this ?
Sometimes we blame, disregard or even hate our parents or guardians who are ahead of us because we don't like a decision they're making us take…
But most times, like my coach…
They're doing it with your best interest in mind.
It's not their fault…
They just want the best for you
And doing that is the only way they know to achieve that.
So be grateful that you have them around even if you don't like some decisions they make…
Be grateful that you have people looking out for your best interests.
And appreciate them instead of pushing to make them understand things from your angle.
In my instance, I didn't complain to my coach…
Or try to explain to him while I held my phone while training…
I just obeyed…
And whenever I'm training with him, I'll still put my phone away without him telling me.
I'll only trade and train behind his back like I did this morning because I want him to keep guiding me on what he feels is best.
As the saying goes:
Never outshine the master
Stay jiggy

PS: I just felt like sharing this with you.
Because in my experience…
Personal life and business are so intertwined, that you'd be a fool to ignore one in favor of the other.
