, yesterday, I talked with a good friend: Joy…

And I want to share some details of our conversation with you.

Now if you read my emails, you'd remember when I told you about how deep emotional wounds affected my business after my mum died this August.

Well, it was Joy who opened my eyes to them…

And she guided me to talk to someone too.

Anyway, some days back, Joy came to me with the idea of helping others like me go through the grief of losing a loved one.

She said she knew so much about the topic and she felt it was a deep pain that needed to be solved…

But at the same time, she felt she would be exploiting people in grief if she charged to help them solve it.

I understood how she felt so I told her this:

“You're not exploiting anyone...

“Ditch that mentality 

“You're helping them.

“And It's a major pain you're relieving them of.

“Would you say that because you sell a "Money-making course" you're exploiting broke people?”

When she read this, she got my point immediately.

You see , sometimes we're afraid to ask for payment in return for what we know because we feel doing so means we're greedy…

But I want this email to be a wake-up call to you.

You deserve to be paid in return for what you know…

No matter how little it is.

I can still remember how hard it was for me to ask my friends to pay me 3k to learn what I knew about Python programming.

Even though I was using an alias, and they didn't know who I was…

I was crippled and I felt guilty at the thought of charging them money (even though it was very little)

But in doing so…

I realized that they took my training very seriously…

And they felt proud of themselves after the training too.

Getting paid motivated me to teach them with fervor…

Investing in the training motivated them to take it seriously.

Because of that…

To date, whenever my friends reach out to me to learn something I'm certain would be valuable to them…

I charge them a fee (no matter how little)...

Not because I need the money…

But because I know that when they invest in learning, they will take it more seriously than if I just taught it to them for free…

And even when some of them rave and say they'll take it seriously if they don't invest to learn it…

I just laugh because I know they won't.

It's just their unconscious self speaking.

And I also adopt that mentality too whenever I want to learn something valuable from someone…

Whether it's a friend or a family member…

If they offer to teach me for free…

I always turn their offer down…

And request that I pay.

Because I know that when I do…

They'd be more accountable and motivated to teach me…

And I'll also be more invested in learning what they're teaching me.

And , 

It's not only money-making skills I apply this too.

I did this with Basketball, Swimming, Boxing…

And I'll still do it with other skills in the future.

You should adopt this mentality too.

So back to the topic …

The major lesson I want you to draw from this is:

If you want to help a lot of people…

And also save your time…

I recommend charging a fee to sell your knowledge.

There's a reason money was created…

And you deserve to make some of it.

So give yourself some credit for knowing what you know…

And charge for it with your full chest.

In doing so, you're not just helping yourself…

But you're helping whoever pays you for that info.
