, I've told you this story before…

But I will tell you again today for the sake of a lesson I want to pass to you today.

It's a story of a would-have-been Billionaire named Ron Wayne.

You see, this guy would have been mentioned amongst the ranks of Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Bernard Anault, Steve Ballmer…and other billionaires…

But I can bet you have probably never even heard of him…

And that's because this guy took for granted what he had because he didn't see the value at the time.

What did this guy do exactly?

To help you understand better, 

I'd tell you a much fuller story.

The story starts with Steve Jobs (creator of Apple) and Wozniak (Co-creator).

They got the idea to create a company they would call Apple.

And they took this idea to Ron Wayne.

Ron, who was a bit well-to-do at the time, bargained with them to get a 10% stake in Apple.

They drew out a contractual agreement and shook hands on it…

And a few days into the agreement…

Ron Wayne called Jobs and Wozniak to tell them he had cold feet…

And he wanted to sell his Apple stake.

Guess what?

They agreed to buy the stake from him for just $800.

Few years down the line and in present times…

The 10% stake Ron Wayne sold would have been worth $200 billion.

Till date, Ron feels regret whenever he shares that story.

Regret that he threw away generational wealth for a couple hundred dollars.

That's this guy's story.

Now what lesson do I want you to draw?

Well, pretty obvious:

One constant I've found in life is that people do not usually appreciate what they have until it's taken from them.

We don't appreciate our health until we fall sick…

We don't appreciate our friendships until we lose them…

We don't appreciate our family and loved ones till they're gone…

We don't appreciate the internet because we feel it's a norm…

We don't appreciate opportunities because we don't believe in them…

And only when we lose these things,

Do we begin to grovel in regret.

You see , I've made up my mind that I would not take anything for granted.

The power of the internet…

The offers I see everyday…

The opportunity to create a life I love for myself…

The ability to acquire skills from someone who is miles away…

The ability to create a relationship with a stranger who pays you thousands of $$ for your work.
