, last week I embarrassed myself at my local pharmacy.

You see, I was feeling feverish and decided to go get some antibiotics before it got worse.

I knew I had symptoms of typhoid so I knew the exact antibiotics to buy.

Unfortunately, the pharmacy was out of stock on tablets of my preffered brand…

So I decided to get the injection instead.

A part of me thought it was going to be fun because it's been a while since I got injected…

Little did I know I was in for a rude awakening.

I sat down and requested intravenous injection instead of the intramuscular I was used to when I was little.

💡Intravenous means you get injected in your veins (through your limbs where veins are visible) and intramuscular means you get injected in your buttocks

It went well at the beginning and I was feeling myself because I didn't even flinch as the nurse inserted the syringe into my veins.

I felt like John Wick hehehe.

As soon as she was done injecting me…

I started feeling nauseous.

In less than a second, I felt my breakfast coming up.

No matter how I tried, I couldn't hold myself from vomiting.

I threw up all the food I had eaten within 3 seconds.

The floor of the pharmacy was messed up.

Riddled with yoghurt and pieces of chicken (my morning meal)

And the funny part is: A girl I knew that crushed on me was at that pharmacy that same time😭

I felt so embarrassed mehnnn.

But I sucked it up.

Everyone told me sorry…

And after cleaning up a bit with the sachets of water given to me, I was on my way home to clean up myself and rest.

It was a harrowing experience…

But it reminded me of a lesson I'll share with you now.

You see , the human body is like a machine.

Like machines, it gets better on a certain task when it does it time and time again…

And when it stops doing those tasks, it begins to get rusty.

In my case, my body was rusty from taking injections because I hadn't taken them in a long long time.

Heck, the last time I remember taking an injection was when I was 6.

And that's why I threw up.

My friend who came before me took the injection and he was sturdy as a rock.

He later on told me that he took injections at least 3 times a year.

Whoahhhh…

No matter how prepared I felt I was, I was doomed to react the way I did because I hadn't put in the hours that my friend had.

Now to business:

I say this without bragging…
