, this morning, I made a post on X (formerly Twitter) and WhatsApp that portrays the truth about my life right now.

I made this post to reveal the fact that for the past few days...

My personal and business life has been so disorganized and grossly unproductive…

And I don't say this lightly ,

On some of these days, I've found myself going through the day without something as basic as an objective in mind…

Talk more of a clear plan to achieve that objective.

I've been drifting and bobbing through these days like a bottle cap on water.

I didn't do stuff I was meant to do like:

• Attend to my students
• Work on my client's projects 
• Write to you
• Work on my projects and experiments
• Train my body 

This had been the reality of my life.

And the reason I'm telling you this is because I want to point you to a lesson.

A powerful lesson I call: The Special Snowflake Syndrome (SSS)

This is one syndrome that lots of people (you and I included) have.

The tendency to feel like we're the only ones experiencing a particular situation when things are not going as planned.

You see, during these unproductive days, at first, I was furious that I spent my days drifting without accomplishing anything worthwhile…

But being angry at myself only made me indulge more in the drifting because I wanted to block out the feeling of defeat….

So I found myself doing the same things that made me angry…

And sometimes I'd even do them with more intensity.

But that was until I reminded myself of the Special Snowflake Syndrome.

I had to address the source of my anger…

And the source was the feeling that I was the only one experiencing this chaos.

And that's what SSS is all about 

The feeling that we're the only ones experiencing a situation we see as bad.

For example, our ad accounts got banned and we automatically feel it's us against the world…

Or a client told us NO and we wonder why we're always unlucky…

Or a campaign we spent time and energy on flopped and we're frustrated because we feel others are getting better results…

As soon as I discovered that…

I quickly began to remind myself that in truth I wasn't the only one feeling this way.

Millions of people around the world have felt this way before…

And more importantly, those I looked up to had also felt this way at some point or the other…

Most notably people like Steve Jobs and Richard Branson (two men I revere)

At this point, I began to feel better and more comfortable with the fact that I felt that way.

Then I picked up my biography of Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson and began to read.

And this is the reason I love biographies,

I began to see my hero: Steve Jobs as a normal human too who had his own flaws like I did…

But embraced them and went on to create one of the most magnificent companies to ever grace the earth: Apple corporation 

Reading his biography for a few days made me feel much better.

I had an easier time getting myself together…

Accepting the fact that I have been burned out with the amount of work I had to do in the previous weeks.

And out of the abundance of this acceptance…

I decided to make that post above to let others who felt like me know that they're not alone.

And , if you're part of us…

I'm personally letting you know now that you're not alone.

You're not a special snowflake.

You're experiencing what millions of people around the world are experiencing too…

Even some of those who you look up to experienced the same thing or are still experiencing the same thing.

So accept this…

Because it's only by accepting this, you'll finally feel liberated.
