[Whatchamacallit] Just breathe 😮‍💨

As part of my initial coach training over fifteen years ago, my mentor coach told me this ability to be comfortable with discomfort is an important trait of a good coach. I've think I've come a long way in this area, but even with all my practice, it's definitely being put to the test now more than ever.


How about you? If you are feeling anxious, here is a very practical and simple thing you can do to sooth your nervous system anytime, anywhere, and for no cost. 💛


  1. Box breathing
  2. 1. Inhale slowly through your nose for 4 counts.
  3. 2. Hold that breath for 4 counts.
  4. 3. Breathe out slowly through pursed lips for 4 counts.
  5. 4. Pause for 4 counts before starting over with another breath.
  6. 5. Repeat this a few times.


This is one technique I use often. I'd love to hear if it works for you.
