#16–Grudges are useless possessions

What do we hold grudges for?

This morning I had a bad experience renting a car. I felt my mental fists clenching up––like, "grrr!"

I spent the day planning my revenge. I'd speak to the manager, and I'd complain here, and I'd post this review there, and I'd report the experience to the credit card company whose points I was redeeming with this rental.

But the ones responsible for my less-than-ideal car rental experience? They're going to sleep perfectly tonight. My feelings aren't going to affect them.

Only I have wasted time and mental space with this Ghost of Clinging to Useless Possessions.

If I let go, I'll free up my mind and my heart.

The same as, if I give out my sister's skirt I'll free up space in my closet for something new with beautiful energy.
